The first “real” Beer & Food Weekly story we put together was about Matthew Cummings and the launch of the new brewing operation at Pretentious Beer Company. Gerald and I spent more than an hour with Matthew sampling pilot brews and discussing art, craft, and future plans for the brewhouse. Before I knew it, he said: “I’ve gotta run and pick up my kid!” I had not shot a single frame for the story. Time to get to work! I asked him to step behind the bar, the light from the big window was nice. He started clownin’ I started shootin’ and we managed to pull the thing together in under fifteen minutes.
