Pad Work: 2018
About The Project
A photo a day challenge for 2018.
P. A. D. – Photo A Day. Pad Work, get it? In most creative fields you get gigs or work by showing clients your portfolio. It’s common but generally bad practice to pad your book. In other words, stuff your portfolio with filler to make it look like you’re so busy. Yeah, this project is tongue-in-cheek — and also a bit nuts.
The idea came to me when the Instagram seven day black and white photo challenge was going around. You know the one — black and white photo, no people, no explanation. Yeah it was fun, but restricting. I decided to try to scale that idea. Starting January 1, I’m going to shoot, edit, and post a photo a day for the entirety of 2018.
Why? Because, I love a good challenge! And it’s an opportunity to create something new every day. Will they all be amazing photos? Hell no. But that’s not the point.
The rules are simple. I can use whatever camera(s) I have at my disposal. The photo must be shot on the date (no using old pictures). And it must be posted before midnight local time, in whatever time zone I find myself. No sweat.
